Balanced Scorecard Style 615

Before presenting Balanced Scorecard examples, it is important to understand the context and the concepts behind the management and monitoring tool created by professors Robert S. Kaplan and David Norton in their famous article in the Harvard Business Review 1992 entitled “The Balanced Scorecard: Measures that drive performance. This template is suitable for businesses that need a basic template to get started with the balanced scorecard concept. You can modify fonts and colors and add a logo to create your custom look. There is also room for your budget information. As was discussed before, KPIs are only a part of the Balanced Scorecard. KPIs are responsible for measurement, but the main purpose of the Balanced Scorecard is to provide business performance management and help to execute a strategy. In the words of FMC Corp. executive Larry Brady, it becomes “the cornerstone of the way you run the business,” that is, “the core of the management system” itself. The main idea of a strategy map is that each strategic objective in your balanced scorecard is represented by a shape, usually oval. Very rarely are there more than 20 objectives.
