Articles of Incorporation Style 9

An Articles of Incorporation is a set of formal documents that contain basic information about a company being created. Because each state has its own requirements, the document is usually filed with the Secretary of State. The Business Programs Division, the largest division of the Secretary of State's office, supports California Businesses by registering business entities and trademarks and enabling secured creditors to protect their financial interests. The Business Programs Division processes millions of business filings and information requests each year. The Secretary of State administers numerous other filings including immigration consultant and various business bonds, notices of joint powers, successor-in-interest, statement of facts – roster of public agencies, and athlete agents. In 1979, Domtar acquired Reed Limited, a subsidiary of a U.K. pulp and paper manufacturer, with three corrugated container plants, a linerboard mill, and a waste paper recycling plant, all in the Toronto area. The Secretary of State's office maintains registration and all updates of California state trademarks and service marks, container brands, laundry marks and the names of farms, ranches, estate or villas. An LLC, however, has what is called "pass-through" taxation, meaning that just the individual is taxed. They are also different in terms of their management and flexibility: an LLC is more flexible to different management organizations, meaning you can set it up more how you would like, instead of the somewhat strict structure of a corporation.
